Is PCR testing mandatory?

 
The PCR test is not a mandatory rule to enter all countries. However, many countries now require a negative RT-PCR test for passengers who wish to enter their territory to avoid any spread of the virus. Find out beforehand to avoid being denied boarding.

Also, as a precautionary measure, some airlines require a negative PCR test within 3 days. That is 72 hours from the date of the result. This is why we advise you to contact your airline company in order to know the necessary instructions for travel.


It is also important not to forget to perform the same checks for your country of return!

 

What does this consist of?

 
The RT-PCR virological test is nasopharyngeal, which means that it is taken from the nose. It allows us to determine whether or not you are a coronavirus carrier, even if you are asymptomatic.

This test consists of inserting a very thin swab (swab stick) into a nostril. The results are not immediate.

Be careful not to confuse it with the less reliable antigenic test, which is not sufficient to cross the borders of some countries.

Where to do a PCR test?

You should check with your government. Usually you will need to make an appointment with hospitals, laboratories or dedicated sampling centers. Beware of the time it takes to receive results, which can take several days. 

Plan to print your result for the airport and if possible, ask for it in English depending on your host country, this will facilitate its study and avoid any problems.
